Anheuser-Busch Acquires Babe Wine

Anheuser-Busch InBev has fully acquired Babe Wine, co-founded by Instagram influencer Josh Ostrovsky, known by his handle “The Fat Jewish,” reports Crain’s New York Business. The brand was founded in 2015 and now generates more than 95 percent of its revenue from its canned wine product.

Anheuser-Busch first took a minority stake in the winemaker in 2018, but with the full acquisition, it can drive sales with increase distribution in a category that is becoming increasingly popular in the U.S. It’s a really staid category,” says Brendan Whitworth, Anheuser-Busch’s chief sales officer in the U.S. “We think this is the right time to capitalize on what’s going on in canned wine space and wine in general.” Full Story
