Listeria Outbreak Linked to Deli Meat, Cheese

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reported a listeria outbreak linked to deli-sliced meats and cheeses. The outbreak, which has not yet been linked to a single, common supplier, has spread to eight cases across four states, resulting in eight hospitalizations and one death.

In interviews, ill people report eating different types and brands of products, including meats and cheeses, purchased from and sliced at deli counters in many different retail locations. Eighty-three percent reported eating products sliced at a deli counter, including meats and cheeses. Investigation Notice
