Amazon Increases Minimum Wage to $15/hr

Amazon will increase its minimum wage to $15 for all full-time, part-time, temporary, and seasonal employees across the U.S., effective Nov. 1. The wage will apply to more than 250,000 Amazon employees, as well as over 100,000 seasonal employees. The change will apply to workers at Whole Foods Market stores as well.

Amazon will also remove its incentive pay component, offering a $15 wage with no targets required. It will continue to provide comprehensive healthcare, company-paid life and disability insurance, up to 20 weeks of paid parental leave, 401k matching, and Career Choice.

The company's public policy team plans to work with policymakers in Washington, D.C., to advocate for a higher federal minimum wage.
