Self-driving vehicle company Nuro has received its first-ever Autonomous Vehicle Deployment Permit from the California DMV, reports The Spoon. This gives the company permission to launch the first commercial autonomous vehicle service in the state, delivering groceries, household items, and other goods with its driverless vehicles.
Nuro’s vehicles are roughly the size of a regular car and travel at a maximum of 25 miles per hour. In an email to The Spoon, Nuro said it will start delivery service with existing partners in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties in the new year. Full Story
