SFA President Discusses Specialty Food Amid COVID-19

SFA President Phil Kafarakis recently spoke with Food Dive about the challenges that the Association’s membership is facing during the COVID-19 pandemic and what the specialty food landscape may look like after business resumes as normal.

"I think the majority of our guys are gonna struggle through this, trying to hold it together," Kafarakis said. "As we get into the fall and the winter, I think we're all going to be praying for a great holiday season at the end of 2020, and that this pandemic does not return during the winter, and that we can get a real huge springboard off of holiday sales."

Kafarakis also related that this period of uncertainty may give way to outside-the-box thinking. "I think people are going to be really rethinking their models. It's like everything else: This disruption will bring transformation." Full Story
