Frontline Foods is a donation-based platform that purchases and delivers food from local restaurants to hospital workers fighting COVID-19, reports The Spoon. Founder Joel Wishkovsky started the business as a GoFundMe page to raise money to buy food for hospital workers. However, he noticed people in other cities doing the same, so he founded Frontline Foods to centralize the efforts.
In less than two weeks, Frontline Foods has raised over $700,000 and delivered over 7,000 meals to healthcare workers. It is available in nine urban areas including Austin, Birmingham, Al., Denver, Los Angeles, Marin/North Bay, Calif., New York City, Portland, San Diego, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, and Vermont.
Frontline Foods has also partnered with Jose Andres’ World Central Kitchen, which will provide 501C3 backing for the organization and help it vet restaurant partners. Full Story
