Starbucks is taking precautionary steps in response to the coronavirus outbreak, according to an open letter to all stakeholders from Rossann Williams, EVP and president of U.S. company-operated businesses and Canada.
Precautions include pausing the use of personal cups and “for here” ware in its stores (though the 10-cent discount for those who bring in personal cups or ask for the “for here” ware is still being honored) and increasing cleaning and sanitizing for all company operated stores to prevent the spread of germs, whicm means adding paid time for store employees doing this work.
In the letter, Williams said, “Our focus remains on two key priorities: Caring for the health and well-being of our partners and customers and playing a constructive role in supporting local health officials and government leaders as they work to contain the virus.”
