New York City-based nonprofit has been designated an essential service by Governor Cuomo and New York State. City Harvest is maintaining operations, continuing to rescue and deliver food to New Yorkers in need. It’s nine Mobile Markets will maintain their current schedule, albeit with adjusted operations in accordance with social distancing.
In addition, City Harvest is in touch with its partner community food programs to keep up-to-date on what’s happening on the ground and to be able to respond to their needs.
City Harvest urges those who can to donate funds, volunteer time, or food to the organization. In a statement on its website, City Harvest said, “We will continue to monitor the situation, relying on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and New York State and City Departments of Health, and we will work closely with Feeding America and our anti-hunger partners across the city, state, and country to respond to the need.”
