Ahold Delhaize has set new long-term targets for its own brands to further its Healthy and Sustainable initiative.
The new targets include:
- Inspiring customers to make healthier and more informed choices by increasing sales of healthy own-brand products to 51 percent of total own-brand food sales
- Increasing product transparency by proving even more information about where own-brand products are sourced, where production methods are used, and under which conditions
- Reducing food and plastic waste by half and working towards zero plastic waste from own-brand packaging by 2025
“Food-related diseases and the impact of climate change are affecting billions of people, including those in our communities and our business. That is why we need to accelerate in the areas where we can create the most value,” Ahold Delhaize president and CEO Frans Muller said, in a statement.
