A new report from the High Level Panel for a Sustainable Ocean Economy reveals that the ocean could supply six times more food than it does currently with the right conditions. Climate change, feed efficiency, production potential, nutritional needs, and accessibility are all factors that could influence the amount of food sourced from the ocean.
The Future of Food from the Sea study states that though there is not a one-size-fits-all policy for enhancing food from the sea, it does suggest a framework that policy makers and scientists can use to inform their decision making.
