Whole Foods recently surveyed 1,006 U.S. adults ages 22 to 37 about their shopping habits, reports Supermarket News. Of those surveyed, 68 percent of millennials said they would pay for high-quality food, and 53 percent would do so for high-quality nonfood products. A majority of respondents strongly agree (42 percent) or somewhat agree (38 percent) that quality is important when it comes to buying food.
In addition, millennials are concerned with where their food comes from and how it is sourced. Sixty four percent of participants said how and where their food is sourced influences their purchasing decisions, and 65 percent agreed that transparency in food sourcing is important, specifically when buying meat and seafood.
