Puris, the pea protein supplier of Beyond Meat, has received a $75 million investment from Cargill, reports CNBC. The company will now be able to more than double its pea protein production at its plant in Dawson, Minn. This is the second time that Cargill has invested in Puris. Back in 2018, Cargill and Puris signed a joint venture agreement to accelerate the production of pea protein with a $25 million investment from Cargill.
However, Puris is not Beyond Meat’s only pea protein supplier. It also sources protein from French company Roquette. Full Story
