According to the UN’s State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World 2019 report, more than two billion people lack access to healthy food, reports Al Jazeera. This puts one quarter of the world’s population, including 8 percent of people in Europe and North America, at risk for serious health problems, like obesity.
"We need to look beyond hunger," says Cindy Holleman, senior economist at the Food and Agriculture Organization and the report's editor. "If we just focus on hunger, we're going to be missing a lot of the growing problems we're seeing." Full Story
