Switzerland-based Firmenich is acquiring a majority stake in VKL Seasoning from True North, a private equity company. VKL specializes in seasoning and flavor and is based India, which Firmenich views a critical market for its perfume and taste business. The acquisition allows Firmenich to expand capabilities and customer reach in India as well as its raw material palette for clean label ingredients. Under the joint venture, VKL will retain its brand identity and operate as a stand-alone business.
