Target will reduce its greenhouse gas emissions 30 percent below 2017 levels by 2030. In addition, as 96 percent of greenhouse gas emissions related to its business come from suppliers, 80 percent of Target's suppliers will set science-based reduction targets on emissions by 2023.
The company will install LED lights in its buildings and add solar rooftop panels at 500 locations by 2020. Its Texas wind power project offsets the electricity use of 60 area stores. It will work with its suppliers to transition to renewable energy sources and implement their own emissions reduction projects.
