Traci Des Jardins will close her flagship San Francisco restaurant, Jardinière, on April 27, reports The New York Times. Des Jardins notes she thought about revamping the restaurant, but ultimately decided she's "tired of fine dining." She will continue to oversee her other San Francisco restaurants, including casual restaurant Mijita Cocina Mexicana and weeknights-only bar School Night.
Des Jardins will pivot from French-influenced cooking to focus on Mexican food. "My passion is moving me in a different direction," she says. "I want to put Jardinière to rest as the distinguished place that it was, but it's hard. It feels like I'm letting go of a style I built a 35-year career on." Full Story
