Philadelphia Bans Cashless Stores

Philadelphia has become the first U.S. city to ban cashless stores, reports The Wall Street Journal. As of July, most retail stores, including restaurants, will be required to accept cash. There are several organizations opposed to the new law, including the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Restaurant & Lodging Association, and the National Retail Federation.

However, some restaurants aren't worried about the new policy. Goldie restaurateur Steve Cook said that while he doesn’t think the policy is great, “it’s not going to be make-or-break for whether our business is successful.” Full Story
