Global Bakeries LLC has acquired Bubbles Baking Co., a provider of frozen cakes and delicacies to large grocery stores and commercial retailers across the nation. The acquisition will allow Global Bakeries to expand into the dessert baking category.
In business for more than 55 years, Bubbles has 55 employees and 300 SKUs and provides customers with a menu of customized products. Bubbles, headquartered in Van Nuys, Calif., will become a fully owned subsidiary of Global Bakeries. Global Bakeries CEO Chris Botticella will lead both companies.
Botticella says Bubbles has "set the standard" in homemade pastries, and the company not only wants to continue this tradition but build upon it with increased efficiencies and new product lines. He adds that Global Bakeries aims to make several add-on acquisitions in 2019.
