FreshDirect is expanding its online grocery service to four new markets in Connecticut, including Fairfield, Norwalk, Southport, and Westport. The company is also expanding its reach to the Washington, D.C. metro area, which will include serving parts of Maryland and Virginia. More new services will be added later in 2019 and in early 2020.
FreshDirect also launched same-day delivery in New York. Customers have access to the company's full assortment of products. The service will start in Manhattan and then expand to Brooklyn and Westchester County, N.Y.
In 2018, Fresh Direct moved into a new South Bronx, N.Y. headquarters, which enabled it to add thousands of new products and accelerate its expansion into new geographies. "Now that we're settled in, [we] want customers to know that we're adding great new products every week, that we're putting more new trucks on the road to make sure they get their deliveries when they want them and on time, and that we have a 100 percent satisfaction guarantee on every order," says CEO David McInerney.
