Nurture Ranch is now selling "1 Steer" ground beef at grocery stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. The company says its ground beef is the first product available at the retail level in those states that can claim the meat in each pack came from a single steer. Lab testing has shown that single-steer production is 100 percent cleaner, the company notes.
1 Steer is humanely raised, free-range, and 100 percent grass fed. It also has a Nurture Tracker code that allows consumers to trace the history of the animals from birth to harvest.
Rodney Mason, the founder of Nurture Ranch, credits his company for bringing the "true ranch-to-table concept to the grocery store." "Pioneering the 1 Steer and 1 Cow process has helped us provide the cleanest and most transparently-sourced beef available to consumers," he says.
