NJ Raises Minimum Wage to $15

The governor of New Jersey has signed legislation gradually raising the minimum wage to $15 by 2024, reports NJ.com. Under the new law, the minimum wage for most workers will increase to $10 an hour on July 1, increasing $1 every year until 2024. Once it reaches $15 an hour, the minimum wage will increase annually to reflect changes in the consumer price index.

There are exceptions for seasonal employees, farm workers, tipped workers, and employees of small businesses. The tipped minimum wage will rise to $5.13, while farm workers' minimum wage will rise to $12.50 by 2024. Seasonal workers and small business employees will reach $15 by 2026. Full Story
