SFA News Live: Ron Tanner, SFA

Ron Tanner, SFA's vice president of philanthropy, government, and industry relations, talks with SFA News Live host Phil Lempert about the Winter Fancy Food Show's efforts in hunger relief. The SFA works with the Food Recovery Network, whose volunteers collect the leftover food at the end of the show and then donate it to Delancey Street Foundation, a nonprofit organization based in San Francisco that provides residential rehabilitation services and vocational training for substance abusers and convicted criminals. "The exhibitors at the Fancy Food Show are very generous with the products they have," noted Tanner, "They've come here, they've brought 100,000 SKUs, so they have a lot of products left over at the end of the show. And they're very generous in that they want to donate that to feed people that are hungry. And there are a lot of people in San Francisco that are hungry."
