Goya Foods Inc. has confirmed plans to build a 330,000-square-foot distribution center in central Florida near Orlando, reports Orlando Business Journal. The facility will be built on 20 of the 40 acres the company acquired from Mid-Florida Logistics Park in Apopka, Fla. Goya may build another 330,000 square feet of industrial space on the remaining acreage.
Groundbreaking is expected to start by April or May with an estimated completion by the second quarter of 2020. The total proposed industrial space may cost $42.9 million to build, according to industry standards.
Goya Foods is the largest Hispanic-owned food company in the U.S. and has experienced double-digit sales growth over the past decade while nearly doubling its product portfolio during that time.
