NuMilk installed make-your-own almond milk machines at select Whole Foods Market stores in New Jersey, reports Food & Wine. The machines are designed to eliminate drawbacks associated with self-made almond milk while offering a better product than the pre-packaged options.
The machine eliminates food waste because it uses the whole almond, resulting in milk that has more protein. Another selling point is that, unlike packaged milks which are often watery, NuMilk almond milk is creamy and foams allowing it to work well in coffee. NuMilk almond milk is sold at $3.99 per liter.
