Global Bakeries, a Pacoima, Calif.-based specialty baked goods producer, attracted a $15 million investment from Surge Private Equity. Global currently specializes in non-GMO bread products such as pita bread, pita chips, bagels, organic flatbread, and croissants for grocery stores, bakeries, and restaurants.
Following the closing of this investment, Tom Beauchamp, partner at Surge Private Equity, says the firm will help Global take its business to the next level by expanding into the organic and gluten-free categories. Founder Albert Boyajian will retain equity and serve on the board of directors alongside Surge partners Beauchamp and Lewis Sharp as well as Firmament VP Lauren Steel.
