A Peak Rock Capital affiliate has purchased Pretzels Inc., a Bluffton, Indiana-based snack maker. The company's portfolio contains traditional, peanut-butter-filled, flavored, seasonal, and gluten-free pretzels as well as extruded snack products. Its blue-chip customer base includes major grocers and national brands. Peak Rock plans to grow the platform through product innovation, investments in the company's capabilities and add-on acquisitions. Chip Mann, the CEO of Pretzels, believes that Peak Rock's expertise in growing businesses will help Pretzels serve its customers better.
Anthony DiSimone, Peak Rock's CEO, says this transaction is the third investment it has made in the food and beverage industry in the last two months. The firm is focused on investing in industry-leading food and beverage businesses that are positioned to capitalize on near-term growth opportunities and aims to make more acquisitions.
