iFresh Inc. has unveiled a strategic plan to improve the retail supermarket experience within its stores. The company noted it will close underperforming stores or sell them. The remaining stores will be remodeled and updated pursuant to a plan outlined by chairman and CEO Long Deng. Updates will include expanded dietary options, improved onsite fresh food preparation, improved payments systems such as cashierless stores, and expanded delivery options.
As part of the plan, Rainbow Tang Inc., a New York-based food management company, signed a sublease agreement with iFresh Glen Cove Inc. Rainbow Tang will make and sell ready-to-eat food in the iFresh Glen Cove Inc. supermarket that iFresh plans to open in the fourth quarter of 2018.
