MMA fighter Connor McGregor has launched Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey in Ireland and in the U.S., reports Food & Wine. It's an 80-proof spirit that is described as being complex and sophisticated yet smooth and approachable with hints of vanilla, honey, and toasted wood. The liquor is reportedly distilled at the world's oldest whiskey distillery with master distiller David Elder, formerly of Guinness, taking part in the process.
McGregor was reportedly offered endorsements by other whiskey companies but decided to take a more serious approach and create his own brand. He is the founder, chairman, and majority owner of Proper No. 12. The Irish whiskey is now available in Ireland and the United States but the company plans to expand further in 2019, according to the report. Full Story
