Whole Foods Market has gained foot traffic at the expense of Trader Joe's, Walgreens, and Dollar Tree over the past year in more than 100 locations across the U.S., according to Sense360. The assessment was compiled in areas where a Whole Foods is located within a mile of competitors. Data from research company Tabs Analytics also show shoppers who visited Whole Foods at least six times rose from 9 percent to 11 percent over the past year.
Tabs' CEO Kurt Jetta says there is a big segment of the population that loves deals and if you offer them, those shoppers will come to your store. But, he says, Whole Foods' effort to shed its "whole paycheck" image will take time and patience, reports Bloomberg. Full Story
