Beyond Meat Files for Beyond Milk Patent

Beyond Meat has filed for a trademark on the name Beyond Milk, according to documents filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, reports Food Dive. The filed document said that the patent would cover “making milk shakes, coffee or tea beverages with milk or milk substitutes.”

Until now, Beyond Meat has mainly focused on hamburgers and sausages made from plant-based protein. However, the success of companies like plant-based dairy company Oatly may attract other businesses looking to gain some market share in the fast-growing space. Full Story
