Applications for FoodBytes’ Startup Pitch Experience, an annual multi-week program that helps startups validate and grow their business, are open through May 6. The program offers global industry exposure, tailored mentor sessions, customized strategic connections with a global network of corporations, investors, and mission-driven entrepreneurs.
From the applicants, 45 startups across agtech, food tech, and CPG will be chosen. Following an in-depth mentoring and coaching program in October, 15 of the 45 will be chosen to present at the platform’s live-streamed public competition, which will be held on Wednesday, November 10.
Ultimately, three participants (one from each category of agtech, food tech, and CPG) will be named winners and receive consultations with relevant members in multiple business development areas.
Last year’s winners include Swan Systems, which won the Agtech Award, Agricycle Global, which won the CPG Award, and Envara Health, which won the Food Tech Award.
“Being recognized as the FoodBytes! Pitch 2020 CPG winner is incredible validation for our model and for our vision that it’s possible to source quality food from remote villages around the world,” said Josh Shefner, founder & CEO, Agricycle Global, in a statement. “Smallholder farmers deserve to be included in the food system, and we’re proving that we can empower these farmers with the technology to create upcycled ingredients and products that fight food loss. The exposure and connections to corporate leaders and investors, as well as other entrepreneurs who are a few steps ahead in their paths, will be so impactful to us as we grow.”
