Sweetgreen will open its first “drive-in” restaurant in 2021, reports The Spoon. The location in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, will focus on digital orders placed via the Sweetgreen app. Off-premises formats will include a traditional drive-thru lane for optimized pickup as well as a drive-in area where customers can park and be attended to by a dedicated “concierge.”
The fast casual chain restaurant said that the location “allows guests to access Sweetgreen without ever having to leave their vehicle.” The company hasn’t said whether there will be any indoor dining attached to the location, but a small patio will provide some outdoor sitting.
Sweetgreen also said that it will look to expand this format to other parts of the U.S. once the Highlands Ranch location is open. Full Story
