Ocado has acquired two leading robotics companies, Kindred and Haddington, to help speed up the pick and pack process of its robotic arms at the five pick-stations at Ocado’s CFC in the U.K.
“The robotic pick opportunity in online grocery is of huge value to us and our clients globally,” says Tim Steiner, CEO of Ocado Group, in a statement. Steiner believes that through this acquisition, Ocado is “massively accelerating” its investment and progress in this space. “This will mean”, he said, “our clients can roll out facilities that will have better economics.”
