The California Beef Council has launched the California Local Beef Directory, a resource for those interested in purchasing beef directly from California's ranchers. In addition to producer details, the directory also provides information about how beef is raised, guidance on different beef cuts, recipe inspiration, and background on how much product to expect when purchasing.
"Even though the COVID-19 pandemic has been impacting all of us for several months now, many of the ranchers and beef producers we work with have indicated they are continuing to see increased demand for their direct-to-consumer sales," said CBC executive director Bill Dale, in a statement. "With this renewed interest in purchasing food locally, it made sense for the California Beef Council to provide a tool that helps shoppers navigate the buying process and build a connection with beef ranchers in their area."
