Jonathan Thompson has been appointed chief executive officer of Nielsen-Massey Vanillas. Thompson is a veteran CPG executive with experience growing brands and leading top performers in high growth categories. Most recently he was general manager for the Isopure Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Glanbia Performance Nutrition. "I am very pleased to be the next CEO of Nielsen-Massey Vanillas. This is an exciting time for the company and I look forward to working with the entire team to grow and scale the business," said Thompson, in a statement. "The Nielsen-Massey brand is world–renowned for its legacy of over 100 years of uncompromising commitment to quality and is well poised to address contemporary market trends and rising demand for sustainably sourced, high quality, natural food products."
The Fresh Market has appointed Jim Heaney chief financial officer, replacing Oded Shein, who previously resigned. Heaney has over 30 years of experience in finance leadership at companies including Disney Cruise Line, Sea World Entertainment, Inc., and Carnival Cruise Line. "On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am very excited to welcome Jim to The Fresh Market team," said Jason Potter, CEO of The Fresh Market, in a statement. "Jim has an exceptional track record in hospitality and finance and is a proven executive with significant experience in operational turnarounds and private equity held businesses."
Dave Ritterbush has been named chief executive officer of Califia Farms, a plant-based food and beverage company. Greg Steltenpohl, the company's founder, will retire as CEO and remain on the board as an executive director. Ritterbush, a CPG industry veteran, has a proven track record of successfully leading food and beverage brands and elevating them to new heights, most recently as president and CEO of Quest Nutrition. "With Califia's innovation and commitment to helping people and the planet, there is endless potential for continued growth, especially as an increasing number of consumers seek plant-based options," said Ritterbush, in a statement. "I look forward to building on Greg's vision and continuing the company's commitment to innovation. Having Greg on the board will allow us to tap into his deep knowledge and passion, which will be invaluable."
