SpartanNash has rolled out contact-free payment options at all of its 155 banner locations across the Midwest, reports Supermarket News. Options include tap-to-pay credit cards, Apple Pay, Android Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, Garmin Pay, Fitbit, and Bronco. These no-touch solutions help speed up the checkout process and enhance safety measures by reducing contact between people and point-of-sale equipment in the checkout lane.
“Providing our store guests with options that fit their shopping preferences — whether that be shopping in-store and using contactless payment or using Fast Lane curbside pickup and at-home delivery — is part of our commitment at SpartanNash,” according to Tom Swanson, executive vice president and general manager for corporate retail at SpartanNash. “Our top priority is keeping our store guests and associates safe, and this is another way we can continue to do so during these unprecedented times.” Full Story
Food Lion has added grocery pick up services to 43 new stores in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. Now, customers can use the Food Lion To-Go website or app to confirm availability and place orders.
“Expanding this convenient service to additional Food Lion stores is more important than ever,” said Evan Harding, director of digital and e-commerce marketing at Food Lion. “We want to give local neighbors the option to shop through the channel they prefer, in-store or online, while still ensuring they have access to the freshest groceries at affordable prices.”
