Eighty-four percent of consumers said that a face mask policy makes them feel most safe shopping in-store, according to a survey by First Insight. Temperature checks are also important to customers, with 71 percent saying that it makes them feel more safe in-store.
As for what kind of stores consumers feel comfortable with, 32 percent said they feel unsafe or very unsafe when visiting shopping malls, 20 percent said the same about warehouse clubs, and 18 percent said they feel unsafe or very unsafe at big box retail stores.
Only 11 percent of customers said they felt unsafe or very unsafe visiting grocery stores and 17 percent said the same of local small businesses.
