Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, maker of chocolate covered ice cream bar Eskimo Pie, is changing the name of the product which the company describes as derogatory, reports Bloomberg. Dreyer’s is the latest in a slew of brands to change their racially-charged logos and branding.
“We are committed to being a part of the solution on racial equality, and recognize the term is derogatory," said Elizabell Marquez, head of marketing for Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream, a U.S. subsidiary for Froneri, in a statement. “This move is part of a larger review to ensure our company and brands reflect our people values.” Full Story
