Amazon has opened its largest Amazon Go Grocery location in Seattle, reports Reuters. The space is four times larger than the first Amazon Go location, which opened in January 2018. The cashierless technology allows customers to scan into the store on their Amazon Go app and start shopping. Ceiling cameras and shelf weight censors keep track of what customers add to their carts and an on-file credit card is billed once the customer leaves the store.
About the Amazon Go format, Dilip Kumar, Amazon’s vice president of physical retail and technology, says, “Our goal is to be able to figure out how to be relevant for customers in whichever neighborhood that we’re in. If we do a good job, good things happen. If we don’t, we course-correct.” Full Story
