Aldi will open two new stores on Long Island, NY in the first half of 2020, reports Progressive Grocer. The first location will be in Valley Stream and the second will be in North Babylon. This is part of the grocer’s investment of more than $5 billion to remodel 1,300 existing stores and open hundreds more across the country.
“The goal of our expansion nationally and locally is to reach new shoppers, and we are growing on Long Island because people want Aldi in their communities,” says Bruce Persohn, South Windsor division VP for the company. “We’ve been operating on Long Island and in New York City for nearly 10 years and have been very successful, which is why we’re opening new stores, including our first store in Nassau County.” Full Story
