Washington D.C. has issued a permit to Amazon to build a 8,041-square-foot brick-and-mortar store at 1701 14th Street NW, reports the Washington Business Journal. The Washington Business Journal first reported in October that a lease had been signed, but Amazon has declined to comment.
It is unclear whether the space will be used as an Amazon grocery store, Amazon Go convenience, or some combination of the two, since the space is larger than the typical space allotted for Amazon Go, but smaller than Amazon's typical grocery store space. Full Story
