According to new research from Edison Trends, in the first half of September 2019, DoorDash had 35 percent market share of consumer spend, followed by UberEats (25 percent) and Grubhub (23 percent). However, Caviar customers have the highest average price per order at $42, while UberEats has the lowest at $27.
Since the start of March 2018, Grubhub has dropped from first in market share to third, which could be due to the increasing competition in the on-demand food platform category, as well as mergers, like DoorDash’s acquisition of Caviar.
