Cooks Venture has closed a $12 million financing round led by Amerra Capital Management, reports The Spoon. The agtech company sells slow growth heirloom chickens that are fed with crops grown with regenerative agriculture. Ultimately, Cooks Venture aims to sell cattle, pigs, and vegetables that are all sustained on the same plot.
Cooks Venture will use the funds to renovate and expand its 800-acre poultry processing facility in Arkansas to handle up to 700,000 chickens per week. It will also partner with agroecologists to develop new sustainable agriculture practices. Full Story
