Kroger Chooses Innovation Fund Recipients

Kroger has awarded grants to seven innovators as part of its Zero Hunger | Zero Waste Foundation efforts, reports Progressive Grocer. The first cohort, which was selected from nearly 400 applicants, received grants ranging from $25,000 to $250,000 per project.

The recipients are Food Forest, a product-sourcing tech platform; Imperfect, an online grocer that sources imperfect produce and surplus food; Mobius, a company that converts industrial organic waste streams into renewable chemicals and materials; Replate, a tech platform that redistributes surplus food; Ripe Revival, a sustainable food brand that makes nutrient-dense protein gummies; Seal the Seasons, which increases access to local food by freezing fruits and vegetables; and Winnow, which provides artificial intelligence solutions for chefs looking to measure food waste.
