H-E-B has partnered with autonomous startup Udelv to launch a self-driving delivery pilot in the San Antonio, Texas area, reports The Spoon. Udelv also works with retailers like Walmart and Farmstead to offer driverless delivery options.
The pilot will use Udelv’s second generation Newton self-driving cargo vehicles, which come equipped with compartments to store goods or groceries. Once loaded at the store, the vehicle autonomously drives (with a human on-board for safety) to the drop off location, where the user can unlock the compartment with their phone. Full Story
