Amazon is exploring a grocery store chain that is not Whole Foods, reports The New York Times. Based on interviews with current and former employees, the chain would be built for in-store shopping as well as pickup and delivery.
“People really need to understand — Whole Foods is the beginning, it’s not the end,” says Brittain Ladd, who worked on Amazon’s grocery operations until 2017. “It’s not everything.” However, Amazon spokeswoman Rachel Hass says Amazon “doesn’t comment on rumors or speculation.” Full Story (Subscription Required)
