As partner country of the 2019 Summer Fancy Food Show, Germany will showcase a number of specialties in the largest pavilion the country has ever hosted at a Fancy Food Show.
Chefs will prepare various German dishes and distribute samples while interacting with attendees three times daily in a cooking demonstration area within the German Pavilion, which was organized by the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture, features more than two dozen exhibitors, and is located on Level 3 of the Javits.
Wine tastings will be hosted by Germany’s 70th Wine Queen, Carolin Klöckner, and German Wine Princess, Klara Zehnder, who are the elected ambassadors for the German Wine Industry. In addition to serving red, white, and sparkling wines, they will provide information about each of the products. The German Pavilion will also feature a variety of German beer tastings at a separate counter.
In addition, a German bonbon manufacturer will take attendees through the candy making process from raw product through to the finished candy or lollipops created in various colors, including those of the German flag. An information counter will be staffed near the entrance of the Pavilion with someone who can answer questions about German products.
“We’re exited to have Germany as our partner country this year,” said Phil Kafarakis, president of the Specialty Food Association. “Their Pavilion will showcase an array of outstanding specialties and innovative products from across Germany. In addition to well-known traditional German foods, we anticipate a number of new products on display at the show.”
Among the products that will debut in the German Pavilion are Rougette Bonfire Grilling Cheeses from Käserei Champignon, vegan cashew cheese from Happy Cheeze GmbH, Cakees Sweet Protein Cheesecakes, dubbed a fitness cheesecake containing 15 percent protein, and a host of products representing a range of categories.
