Jet.com has partnered with U.K.-based Spoon Guru to enable customers filter their food searches on the site by specific dietary needs, from allergies and intolerances, to lifestyle choices like vegan or kosher, reports Supermarket News.
Jet is the first U.S. retailer to adapt Spoon Guru’s technology. U.K. supermarket chain Tesco has been using it since November 2017, and since implementing, has seen sizable increases in its basket conversion rate, including up to 420% for some search terms.
According to Markus Stripf, co-founder and co-CEO of Spoon Guru, 64% of the world’s population is on some form of exclusion diet. Spoon Guru also reports on its website that shoppers have an average of 3.3 dietary preferences. Full Story
