Foodhaul, a new Chicago startup, aims to be the next big thing in food delivery by building its own in-house restaurant brands and delivering them from a central kitchen, without relying on third-party delivery platforms, reports the Chicago Tribune.
The service, which offers a variety of culinary concepts at a flat $5 delivery fee, is funded by investment firm Grow Forward, which invests in other local brands such as Mighty Vine tomatoes, Local Foods, and HandCutFoods. Foodhaul shares a 6,000-square-foot kitchen with HandCut in the back of Local Foods’ store. Full Story
