Reuben S. Canada Has Passed Away

Reuben S. Canada, CEO of Canada Enterprises and creator of Jin+Ja, has died at the age of 41. Once a successful patent attorney, Canada switched gears to pursue a career in food and beverage. Jin+Ja won the 2014 sofi Award in the Outstanding Cold Beverage category for it's Dragon Fruit beverage, and the story of his career change won the first national "My Story My Ad" contest, worth $15,000.

A strong advocate for entrepreneurship and empowerment, Reuben Canada was featured at the Black Enterprise business summit and on Philadelphia ABC news for Laurel-House Women's Shelter which served domestic violence victims. In his private life, he cherished his family and friends. With a humble disposition and proverbial speech, he uplifted and empowered many with their goals and dreams.

“Reuben was an inspiration for young entrepreneurs with a specialty food dream,” says Ron Tanner, SFA vice president of philanthropy, government and industry relations. “His drive and enthusiasm were remarkable and, as a member of the SFA’s Diversity Council, Reuben helped build a diverse community of specialty food makers.”

The family members are thankful to the many people who have shared their wishes and prayers during these troublesome times. They have created a Facebook page "Remember Reuben S. Canada" for the public to post.
